World Aquatics Championship: schedule and results of Ukrainians. Chinese strategy: do not defeat Russia, then play a dirty trick on the Aquatics World Championships synchronous

WORLD WATER SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP

The Russian team won gold medals in the technical group program at the World Aquatics Championships in Budapest

Elena VAITSEHOVSKAYA from Budapest

The mixed zone is a place for emotions. As a rule - joyful. However, the head coach of the Russian team Tatiana Pokrovskaya came there after the victory of her team with difficulty holding back not the most positive feelings. It would seem: a wonderful victory, a huge gap from second place, several debutantes became world champions for the first time, what else to talk about if not about this? But the coach immediately stunned her with what occupied her thoughts the most: to perform in combination (in the form where Russia is not represented at this championship at all), the Chinese group intends to perform to the music with which Russian girls won gold at the Rio Games a year ago - de Janeiro.

ROBERT IN CHINESE

The famous Olympic "Prayer" was not just a production, of which there are many in Pokrovskaya's lifetime. She went down in history as a program that has never been in synchronized swimming and is unlikely to ever be. A program with an outstanding, over 99 points, overall result and three judges' "dozens", which is simply unrealistic under the current judging system, when each performance is disassembled almost into molecules. So, at least, synchronized swimmers themselves think.

That Olympic performance in Rio de Janeiro made Pokrovskaya break the usual strategy. For several Olympic cycles in a row, when the post-Olympic generational change took place, the coach habitually took the Olympic production and used it as a stencil, training the young in such a way that the athletes not only repeated the best four-year program, but made it even more expressive. Here the girls prayed: anything but "Prayer". Because it is simply impossible to present it to the public better than the program was presented in Rio. Let it remain in the Olympic annals as an absolute and not intended to be repeated exclusive!

Who could have suspected that the Chinese women would seize the Olympic "Prayer" with a death grip? The lion's share of the Chinese progress in synchronized swimming was primarily due to borrowing. Alien elements, alien ideas, alien costumes - she talked a lot about this at one time Tatyana Haytser, who worked as a synchronized swimming coach in China for several years and once said that the ability to learn Chinese has no equal. In principle, they are not capable of inventing their own and have never aspired to this. But they brilliantly know how to select what they need, and brilliantly copy it. Is it any wonder that the best program in the world was taken by the Chinese as a reference point for this season?

EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT PROHIBITED IS ALLOWED?

An attempt to get an answer to the question for what purpose such an ambiguous borrowing was made was unsuccessful: at a press conference, the Chinese women stubbornly pretended that they did not understand what was at stake.

On the other hand, it's time to remember the phrase: "Everything that is not prohibited is allowed." same complaints Pokrovskaya on constant borrowing last from the time when Russia, under her leadership, was just beginning to win. But this is a kind of championship cross: no matter how dubious the methods by which this or that country is trying to achieve world domination may seem, this is just a strategy. Everyone copy each other in art one way or another, synchronized swimming was no exception. Well, why not take Singapore and Costa Rica as an example, aiming for gold medals? Once upon a time, as the coach repeatedly emphasized, Spanish women were engaged in creative plagiarism, who thus tried to get closer to Russia as close as possible, now Spain has been replaced by China in the second position of the world podium. And the most correct thing is to treat it without emotions - as a given.

In addition, in Budapest, due to the lack of Russian women in the combination, even a full-fledged intrigue will not work - in this type of program, the Chinese women will not even have to go out of their way to win their only gold. If we talk about the continuation of rivalry in the free program of the groups, in the "technical" final the difference between Russia and China was 1.7944, and this is a large enough value to talk about the equality of forces.

The group competitions in the technical program, where Russia has already won the third victory in five days of competition, brought the synchronized swimmers tournament to the equator: the athletes have five sets of awards to play in arbitrary productions.

July 18, Tuesday. SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING. Group. Technical program.
1. RUSSIA - 96.0109. 2. China - 94.2165. 3. Japan - 93.1590.

The synchronized swimmers of the Russian team took the fifth gold in the outdoor pool of Budapest, where the World Aquatics Championship is being held. Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Oleksandra Patskevich had no equal in the free program of duets, who confidently defeated rivals from China with a difference of 1.7 points. The Chinese women could not cope with the invincible Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina, they could not resist the new generation of our mermaids.

No ideas - take Russian

The former head coach of the Spanish synchronized swimming team, Ana Tarres, has never been shy about borrowing whole pieces of programs from her Russian colleagues. Nothing has changed with her transfer to the Chinese team. The duo Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen showed in Budapest a slightly modernized Mermaid program, with which our five-time Olympic champions Ishchenko and Romashina shone.

Entire pieces of the program and even swimwear were simply copied by the Chinese team. This is not prohibited by the rules, and, probably, on the one hand, it can serve as the best assessment of the work of the Russian school of synchronized swimming. But after all, we are not talking about the teams of Austria or Kazakhstan, for example, which medals in the "synchronous" pool can only dream of, but about the main competitors.

Pokrovskaya - in pink, Russia - in gold. Synchronized swimmers are invincible

Russian synchronized swimmers won the gold of the World Championship - 2017 in the technical program of the groups. Completely new composition.

In synchronized swimming, there has long been a practice to show Olympic programs for the next season after the Games, but if they are shown by a team from the same country. In Budapest, the Chinese women swung at the "Mermaids". If it were figure skating, the judges would not have given them such high marks - there, repetitions, even in their own performance, are not welcome. But this is a different sport in which the hegemony of Russia is already fed up with everyone.

Chinese women swung at the Russian "Mermaids". If it was figure skating, plagiarism would have been reflected in the marks.

New mermaids are not worse than the old ones

That is why the judges generously gave the Chinese women high scores. It was clear that if anyone could get ahead of Tintin and Wenwen, then only the Russians.

By lot, Kolesnichenko and Patskevich competed through the same team after the Chinese, and our girls, together with their mentor Tatyana Danchenko, had the opportunity to accumulate all the emotions associated with outright plagiarism. Moreover, Svetlana and Alexandra themselves acted not as the original, but as new performers of one of the most difficult programs in the history of synchronized swimming.

Angela and Dimona. you yourself are disgusting

The mixed Russian duet won silver at the World Championships in synchronized swimming. Men in this sport should have a place in the Olympic program.

The new generation of Russian mermaids turned out to be no worse than the previous one. Height, grace, acrobatics - the highest class, so far unattainable for anyone. But the judges were a bit stingy with the scores for Kolesnichenko and Patskevich. The gap between Russians and Chinese women in this Olympic synchronized swimming event could be at least one point more than the final one.

Tatyana Danchenko, who was more nervous than usual before the start of the performance, immediately blossomed and kissed the new world champions. You can exhale, but the sediment still remains - when ideas are simply stolen, it is always unpleasant.

Height, grace, acrobatics - the highest class, so far unattainable for anyone. The total score for Kolesnichenko and Patskevich could have been higher.

13 hundredths in favor of Ukraine

The intrigue in the free program of duets was not only in the comparison of the original and the copy, but also in the struggle for the third place, which was equally claimed by the teams of Ukraine and Japan. Both duets were worthy of bronze medals, but there are practically no equal points in synchronized swimming.

Golden Debut. The new star of the Russian national team in synchronized swimming

The first gold of the Russian team at the World Aquatics Championships was predictably won by synchronized swimmer Svetlana Kolesnichenko.

That is why the judges, having calculated everything, rated the program of Anna Voloshina and Elizaveta Yakhno a little higher. Yukiko Inui and Kanami Nakamaki lost only 0.13 points to the Ukrainians. In synchronized swimming at the World Championships in Budapest, three more sets of awards remain to be played - in free programs of mixed duets and groups and in combination. In the latter form, the Russian team will not be represented.

Skater Denis Yuskov set a new world record at a distance of 1500 m. Hockey player Evgeni Malkin won the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row and the third time in his career, and also became the top scorer in the NHL playoffs. Skier Sergei Ustyugov won the prestigious Tour de Ski and won five medals at once at the World Championships. About them and other Russian athletes who delighted fans in 2017 - in the material RT.

The outgoing year turned out to be difficult for Russian sports. However, there were enough reasons for pride: these were the successes of the skier Sergei Ustyugov, and the world records of the figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, and the winning streak of Maria Lasitskene, and the triumph in the biathlon relay, and the new stars of rhythmic gymnastics. About what athletes from Russia pleased sports fans in 2017 - in the material RT.

Soloist of the Russian national team in synchronized swimming Svetlana Kolesnichenko and two-time world champion in synchronized swimming Russian Alexander Maltsev were recognized by the International Swimming Federation (FINA) as the best synchronized swimmers of 2017.

  • Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Svetlana Kolesnichenko and two-time world champion Alexander Maltsev became nominees for the title of the best athlete and candidates for awards from the International Aquatics Federation (FINA) in 2017.

After the end of the world championship in water sports, which was triumphant for Russian synchronized swimmers, two athletes from the victorious team, Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Mihaela Kalancha, visited the editorial office of RT. They told how they train for 10-12 hours a day, what synchronized swimmers should never eat, and what criteria are used to select children for this sport.

The most titled athlete in the history of domestic swimming, Yulia Efimova, in an exclusive interview with RT, summed up her performance at the World Aquatics Championship, where she won four medals. The Russian woman spoke about her rivalry with American Lilly King and Lithuanian Ruta Meilutite, admitted that she dreams of winning Olympic gold, and said that she was ready to swim with a shark after her career, following the example of 23-time Olympic champion Michael Phelps.

The head coach of the Russian national swimming team Sergei Kolmogorov said when Russian athletes will be able to compete with the Americans.

The completed World Aquatics Championship turned out to be very successful for the Russian woman Yulia Efimova. In the capital of Hungary, she won four medals, including one gold. After winning the 200-meter breaststroke, the 25-year-old swimmer surpassed the legendary four-time Olympic champion Alexander Popov and became the most titled athlete in the history of Russian swimming. Now Efimova has 14 awards of world championships of various denominations.
